For over 100 years, Beak and Skiff has been producing some of the best apple crops in the region, and now, they’re using those apples to create the most unique and tasty craft vodka and gin on the market. One local suggests adding 1911’s vanilla chai vodka to apple cider for a crisp and refreshing fall cocktail. If you’re not a fan of vanilla, try the honeycrisp vodka. This versatile spirit is sure to make your apple martini the hit of the party.

Fear not, gin lovers! The 1911 gin is sure to take any gimlet or martini to the next level. We are confident that 1911 will top any must-visit Central New York distilleries list. For more information on Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards, visit our In-Cider’s Guide.

Located in the old firehouse and municipal building on Main Street in Ovid, Firehouse Distillery is an oft-overlooked gem on the list of Central New York distilleries. The prices on their flights are reasonable, and we highly recommend the Connoisseur, which includes a shot of their double-pot distilled brandy; their delicious malt whiskey; and their traditional-style absinthe. The real winner here, though, is their Old Saloon Malt Whiskey, which is four-grain aged and sure to go down nice and smoothly.

No tour of Central New York distilleries would be complete without a trip to Myer Farms in Ovid. A must-try item on their menu is their lavender vodka, a spirit that can make unwinding from a hectic day at work even more enjoyable. Add a sprig of the plant to a lavender vodka and soda to impress your guests at your next cocktail party.

Their list of spirits is impressive, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention their selection of whiskey and bourbon. Include these in your hot toddy to be instantly warmed on a cold winter’s night. When you’re making your list of Central New York distilleries to visit, be sure this one is at the very top.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed in Hidden Marsh Distillery, which shares its home with Montezuma Winery. It’s a popular hangout for lovers of both wine and spirits, but just try to walk away without purchasing a bottle of Fat Frog Blush or Judd’s Tangle Foot corn whiskey.

The real winner here is Bee Vodka, which is distilled from 100% New York honey. Its caramel undertones make this spirit smooth and easy to add to any cocktail.

Another winner here is their apple brandy, which is distilled from local apples and aged for almost three years. Add it to warm cider for an after-dinner treat. One trip to Hidden Marsh is all it will take to make it top your list of Central New York distilleries.

It’s hard to believe Last Shot Distillery has been in business for just two years. In that short time, Last Shot has established itself among the very best of Central New York distilleries. One unique item on their spirits menu is their maple spirit, which is distilled from 100% New York maple syrup. The owners suggest adding it to some hot apple cider on a cold winter’s night, but it’s tasty enough to become your new favorite digestif.

Another spirit worth mentioning is Last Shot’s lightning whiskey, which is aged in New American oak barrels, just like their bourbon. You’ll never want to make your hot toddies with any other whiskey!
