Ferns growing along the Gorge trail in Filmore Glen State Park. The trail has numerous micro-climates supporting a wide variety of plant life.
Hikers, inspired by the beauty of the glen, often leave stone cairns in the creek. The boulder in the background is a typical example of a glacial deposit.
The changes in elevation are marked by stair-stepping falls in Filmore Glen, and the walk has many beautiful tableau like this view.
From the second floor sculpture gallery, you have views of the entire Cornell campus. The spires are McGraw Hall, and the Cornell Clock Tower.
A zero gravity bench was installed so museum visitors could experience COSMOS up close.
Even during the day, you can make out the lights of the COSMOS exhibit. For the full effect, return after dark.
COSMOS at night. We were so enchanted by the exhibit, that we went back to Ithaca the next night to see the lights. On the second night of the summer, we lay on a blanket on the lawn, drank wine and watched the stars come out around the COSMOS.
Bob’s Barbecue in Homer, NY was our last stop of the day. The road side stand serves the classic CNY barbecue chicken along with ribs and pulled pork.
