5 Best Syracuse Restaurants
Recently, a group of four journalist foodies have been on the search for the best brunch restaurants in Syracuse, New York. We believe that brunch is a weekend staple, and we have a few qualifications for brunch that we like — late mornings, mimosas and good prices.
But Syracuse has tons of other restaurant options for any time of day and all sorts of tastes. In fact, we believe that it has some of the best restaurant options around. Here are some of our top picks that our writers and reviewers at Livable CNY consider the best Syracuse restaurants:
This upscale restaurant is perfect for wine lovers, Thai-cuisine enthusiasts, and those looking for a fun first date. Check out their international award-winning wines, delicious (and beautiful) desserts, and revel in some jazz music. If the weather is good, sitting on the patio is a treat!
Lemon Grass is located at 238 W Jefferson St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
Angotti’s Family Restaurant
Angotti’s Family Restaurant has all the charm of a family-owned restaurant with some of Syracuse’s best Italian food. It’s affordable, authentic, casual and has large serving sizes. We really couldn’t ask for anything more. Also, did you know that it’s been around since 1961?
If you’re looking for the best Chinese food in Syracuse, check out 21 Cafe. Their signature dish is a hot pot: fill up a bowl with raw ingredients, from various veggies to proteins, and chefs stir fry it full of their classic Szechuan flavors. Its location is also tucked away in a small Chinese community of shops and restaurants, so you know it’s authentic.
21 Cafe is located at 124 Headson Dr., Syracuse, NY 13214.
As you can guess from its name, Dinosaur BBQ is best known for its barbecue. But did you know it also has great vegan options? Try their chopped salad without the deviled egg (you can add tofu) or a smoked portobello sandwich. If you’re not in the mood for vegan, we recommend some BBQ wings or a classic pulled pork sandwich.
Dinosaur BBQ is located at 246 W Willow St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
The Stoop Kitchen is known for its chill vibe, making it one of the best hangout spots in Armory Square. Also, it has two floors. Check out the first if you’re in the mood for coffee and pastries. The second floor is for their full menu and bar. The food is made from local, fresh ingredients — and their menus change depending on what seasonal ingredients are available.
The Stoop Kitchen is located at 311 W Fayette St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
