5 Places for Cheap Parking in Downtown Syracuse

So you recently moved to Syracuse, or maybe you’re just visiting and are headed to Armory Square for a night out or dinner and some shopping. No big deal, right? You have a car. But there’s one issue…

It’s no secret, cheap parking in Downtown Syracuse can be a pain. Many restaurants and event venues – even gyms and offices – don’t have allotted parking. It can be especially frustrating for those who are new or unfamiliar with Downtown. The city has a good website explaining the options but it’s not user-friendly when you’re on the go.

So to help solve your problems, here’s five low-cost parking options each in different corners of Downtown:

1. Street parking anywhere Downtown

  • Monday-Saturday $1.25/hour with 2 hour max and free before 7 a.m. and after 6 p.m.
  • Free on Sunday’s
  • Free all day on holidays
  • The meters accept credit cards, quarters, nickels, and dimes.
  • Download the Whoosh mobile app  to pay using your phone. The app stores a credit or debit card so you just pin your location, choose a time, and you’re good to go! The app also will alert you when your time is close to expiring but you can also extend the time if you need to.

2. M&T Bank Parking Center at 108 E Washington St.

  • 520 spaces in garage-style parking
  • $1.60/hour, $5.35/day
  • Blocks from Otro Cinco, Perseverance Park, and Original Grain.

3. Fayette Street Garage at 300-312 East Fayette St.

  • 575 spaces in garage-style parking
  • $2/hour, $8/day
  • 24-hour available
  • Blocks from The Mission Restaurant, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department, and Syracuse City Courthouse.

4. Trolley Lot at 102 Dickerson St. 

  • 400 spaces in an open lot
  • Monday-Friday $5/day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., $3 after 3 p.m. and on weekends
  • 24-hour available
  • Close to the M.O.S.T., Landmark Theatre, and Armory Square.

5. Hotel Syracuse Garage at 600 S Warren Street. 

  • 560 spaces in garage-style parking
  • Sunday-Saturday $5/day
  • Close to the Centro Transit Hub, Symporia, and Shaughnessy’s.
