The Top Central New York Fashion Trends this Winter

The Central New York fall/winter 2019-2020 fashion trends are here with a new line of winter wonderland textures by Chanel and a color splash of bright inner wear to keep you cozy and stylish in the snow season. The runway this year was all about making bright colors a winter trend and bringing back the ’70s as a winter style. We know you’re just as excited about this year’s fall/winter fashion as we are so let’s dive right in!

Coat Collection

The winter season this year is all about showing off rich textures and contrasting tones. Chanel’s delicately designed tweed coats reflect the winter wonderland. Soft toned capes and trench coats were also largely featured in the 2019 winter runway by designers Burberry and Chloe. The new collections showcased a simple yet extravagant take on fashion for the coming winter.

Color Splash

The Central New York fall/winter fashion season this year is bringing back bright colors with a splash. Amongst the favorite picks, this year is the vivid turtleneck. Bright colors are also a decade’s fashion statement so a lot of what we saw on the runway this winter was a fashion flashback to the ’70s. Tom Ford brought back lavender hues while Kate Spade brought back colorful suits and wide-leg trousers. The idea behind the streamline of colors and hues is to create dimension and contrast with the neutral tones of winter.

From Fur to Feathers

Feather lined coats are replacing fur this winter. Many designers have elected to put a stop to the fur trend in order to promote wildlife conservation, so they’ve moved on to less controversial feathers. This year, Parabal Gurung launched its line of dresses fit for winter with warm feather accents and bright tones. Meanwhile, Valentino showcased their take on the trend with oversized feathered coats. The new texture adds a light yet glamorous touch to any winter outfit.

Wonderland Shoes

The bright color scheme continues this fall/winter season with vibrant snakeskin, vivid feathers, and all-around dazzling shades. Saint Laurent and Victoria Beckham added color to their winter styles with bright court shoes. Giambattista Valli taught us how to wear feathered shoes with any winter look. For those of us who love animal print, snakeskin is a huge shoe trend this year. Whether you’re slithering through the New York streets in viper skin or gliding by in bright shades, you’re sure to leave an impression this season.

Totes of Accessories

At the top of the trend list this year is the tiny statement purse. Givenchy adds charm to their runway looks with teeny croc-embossed leather handbags. The purse collection this winter season is all about more character and less purse. On the other hand, charming bowtie scarves by Valentino and oversized chain-links by designer JW Anderson add a bigger flare to the winter look. The large bowtie look is a chic fashion statement for the everyday look. For the fun weekend ahead, go bolder with large chain-link earrings.
