This family-owned vineyard features sweet whites and dry reds that will send satisfying tingles to your palate. With a drink in hand, visitors can take a stroll on the pastoral property featuring apple trees, an herb garden and its own cattle. The inside of the cafe features a warm and rich ambiance, with wood finishes and brass industrial fixtures. One can choose to dine in the main cafe or outside on the patio overlooking the property. But one of the best surprises at Owera are the delectable brick-oven pizzas. While $16 may seem pricey,  the garlic flatbread pizza topped with mozzarella, caramelized onion, and the optional balsamic vinaigrette drizzle is to die for.  A day at Owera is a day well spent.

Do not underestimate this hidden gem of East Syracuse. Inside the unassuming small brick building is a welcoming environment that makes every visitor feel at home. Lakeland’s non-traditional atmosphere is created by the presence of comfy couches, bar stool seating and a farm style wooden table for six. Lakeland makes its wines right on the premise and features favorites such as the “Moscat-ohh” and and its pomegranate zinfandel. One of the best features of Lakeland is the hands-on approach it takes on wine tasting. Couples, bridal parties and friends can come in, make their own wine,  and even create their own title and label—a keepsake and memory sure to last.
